The LAST Network project

The Leeds Anti Sex-Trafficking (LAST) Network seeks to highlight the realities faced by trafficked women worldwide, and empower individuals and groups to take action against sex-trafficking in their local communities.

Evolve Creative Media has been helping the group with the production of a simple website to help publicise their activity. You can view the site at www.lastnetwork.org.uk. Included in the project was the development of a social network marketing strategy which has encompassed a Facebook Page, Twitter Stream and Youtube Channel.

At the end of the day, sex trafficking is nothing short of slavery which for all intents and purposes was eradicated in Britain by 1833 with the Slavery Abolition Act. Whilst everyone likes a bit of rough, let’s make sure we keep it between two consenting adults…“consenting” and “adults” being the operative words!

Evidently, these so called ‘traffickers’ are ruthless bastards; they treat women with no respect, they are completely oblivious to the binding laws of civil society and they are devoid of any kind of humanity. They take away peoples liberty and destroy their dignity, as a result it rests on all of our shoulders to route this evil from society.

The LAST Network is run entirely by volunteers. The idea is straight forward and effective. They run events and campaigns on behalf of local and national anti-trafficking organisations. These organisation directly support trafficked women and campaign on the wider issues. By doing this, the LAST Network amplify the voices of these organisations in the local community where they don't have the resources to do it themselves.
